No one is even afraid of Microsoft anymore. They still make a lot of money----so does IBM, for that matter. Actually IBM recently passed Microsoft in earnings, which tells you the state of things. But who really worries about Big Blue anymore? Same for Microsoft.
Google and Apple are the most dangerous companies now by far, in both the good and bad senses of the word. Microsoft can at best limp along afterward.

Actually, In my opinion, its just the industry stabilizing
the computer industry has to stabilize someday, and the days of stock prices just shooting up should end
as for ibm, most people really have no idea how much influence IBM has over the computer industry, and how they make most of their profits
people think IBM is "dieing" simply because you don't see IBM products anymore. But really the truth is, making business products just have higher profit margins than consumer products.
also, I genuinely believe that there is a new "bubble" in the computer industry. someday people will figure out that social networking isn't worth that much, how advertising on social networking sites simply isn't that effective
