I just remembered that it is actually ACM reloaded that alters your x_menu.txt files. If you want to see range aswell as bearing from your watch officer you'll have to manually edit the sting back yourself after you've installed all the mods you want to use that can effect that file. I think the mod's author felt it the range request was too accurate for his taste or something like that. However you should always get a bearing with this mod even if you leave those files alone.

If you use SH3 Commander make sure you roll it back everytime before enabling or disabling mods, as failing to do this can sometimes cause JSGME to not
not remove/replace the game files properly. Perhaps this was the cause of your problems? Either that or SH3 Gen did something to your install, I'm not sure as I never have used it. Setting SH3 Commander to rollback automatically on exit is a good thing to do.

The list of mods you have displayed on your first post should work fine together in the order you have written. I can't see any reason why they would cause problamatic conflicts.
Then that's even stranger. I was using option 4, with LRT, all along. Ditto with ACM. So in reality, what I was used to wasn't right.

Here's my theory.
It's entirely possible something got messed up from not rolling back. I didhave it set to automatically roll-back, but my pc has crashed a couple of times (unrelated issues), so maybe it failed to do so.

Then, I installed SH3Gen, which may or may not have caused a problem, but I did install that sun-fix mid patrol. I've since read that the game doesn't like that. Maybe it's what caused my lookout to not speak properly. So, I monkeyed with the mods, this time rolling back. This perhaps "fixed" the two things that I was unaware of (green line not supposed to be there, range not supposed to be told). I then took those to be yet more problems. I guess things aren't as bad as I thought.

I've deleted all my saves, and loaded OLC Option 3 w/o LRT (why would the lines denoting a compartment's efficiency be taken away in a mod affecting repair time?). So far it seems ok, except that the English Nav Map mod doesn't work, and the boat's controls are all in German. The map I have sufficient geographical knowledge to deal with, but a mod that should work having no effect is troubling. I wish i knew how to turn those buttons back to English, too.
