Just wanted to post this.
Age my friends is the answer. Time is the fire in which we burn. Limit the world population to a certain number and calculate the precise number of births that just should allow in order to prevent too fast a collapse. It will take a while, it will be a tough ride with all the resource problems, but if you manage to do it, you would have no need to directly kill someone, removing some of the moral problems, as well as ensure that those who do grow up have an increasing amount of resources at their disposal. It's green and its mean
But no, in all seriousness, it is either complete population control or killing on a massive scale though all manner of devices. And still you wouldn't have enough space to bury all the billions of bodies. If we do chose war, than no body lives though the massacre of Humanity. If do take a slow approach and decide to sacrifice a lot in out time so that the following generations will have something to grow upon, then we might still have a slight chance to actually achieve something.
It's the Malthusian dilemma. Do you allow them to die due to hunger, disease, war, etc. or do you take the Huxley way and in one way or another control the birthing process. Any more "humane" ideas out there?
