The TSA is pretty absurd. The people they hire look like they'd be a larger threat than many passengers. Half my friends (more?) have Q clearances (heck, got interviewed in the house by an investigator for a friend getting cleared last week). They're gonna get the pat-down from someone in a much tighter financial situation that might be "bought" to look the other way? Guys that deal with designing our defenses and nukes, no less. LOL.
The pilots? Erm, if they want to harm passengers, they are in the cockpit already, they can do like that Egyptian pilot did and crash the plane.
I'm frankly unsure what is to be done. I'd like to see serious studies on the x-ray machines before my kids get scanned repeatedly, for example. What will a pat-down buy some slack-jawed TSA employee find? How much training do they have? As much as a cop doing a search? I think not.
