but thats probably me done with SH3 then, I can't play games that you put 10s or even 100s hours of time into and then saves regularly get corrupted, thats why I don't play blood bowl or CM99/00 (the best version of championship manager) anymore. I'm not aware that saves
regularly get corrupted, if you have a good working install and avoid doing things that are known to be problematic (as described above). But occasionally they do happen, because sometimes files on a computer get corrupted somewhere in the process of creating/saving/moving/accessing them and that's just how it goes.
If it's happening on a regular basis with a particular install of the game, chances are there's a reason for it that can be pinned down and addressed in some way.
Personally I've put in hours of game time over many careers and made many saves, sometimes a dozen or more in the same patrol, and I've never had an issue loading a save that wasn't attributable to something I did to bork things up in between gaming sessions.
