As I've been using the "no TDC" option (I prefer the HTML-style TDC better; too much on-screen clutter otherwise IMO), having just a blackened icon would give me a hard time finding where to click to bring up the TDC interface

Besides, once the interface in place, having a "black hole" in the corner just wouldn't look right.

Great to hear about the update. Here's hoping that the upcoming patch doesn't break yours and everybody's work. Maybe it'd be wise to wait until the 12th?
Anyway, I noticed that in the OfficerB.dds there are mipmaps. Do they serve any purpose? It would seem strange if they did.
Finally, here's an alternative OfficerB.dds; a more morbid version, which I think fits better those of you that play on the Xbox.
