The first can be seen when you select the Narvik mission and VII B, you will get an early tower like Prien's U47 at the time of Scapa Flow and perhaps until july 40.
If you select the Bismark mission you will get a late tower.
What is not known is if the second or intermediary tower (like silent hunter 3) or cut tower is there. For this we have to wait for the patch and see if we can have this cut tower during improvements.
The photos showing some of the last pictures of U-47 in february 41 show this new "cut" tower.
As i said above, the Narvik mission shows a correct tower with a small basket or bath behind like A but has wind deflector in the middle of the tower.
I hope to have this early type B soon with the patch.
The images others and myself have posted in the thread you're linking above may not be so accurate.

If you carefully study the pictures you will see the most obvious hull difference between VIIB and VIIC - wider bow on the VIIC. And some pictures that show net cutters and other stuff we discussed are now in question after you further examine them.

Someone also claimed that U-47 was type A, which we know isn't, and it was well documented.

What I am interested - is it true that VIIB boats had 3 basic types of towers or was it specific to each boat based on the time they have been commissioned / built?
