Thanks for everyone's thoughts & that tip. I'm not about to take one of these idiots on. I don't want a criminal record because I hit one of these turds. Unfortunately they have rights too.

I just called my landlord's private security company to ask them to get rid of 2 of these buggers who are hanging around in the stairwell; I saw them just now as I was going down the hall to do my laundry. Whether the security guards turn up is 50-50 but at least I did something constructive.
