navmap contact identification question

Still new to the game and need a little more assistance in identifying hostile ships when there is a lot of traffic up there. I am using GW 1.0. When there are multipe contacts (convoy) all of the contact lines are black so it is difficult to distingish the merchants from a nearby destroyer. Where can I find the old navmap contact file that displays enemy contacts such as destroyers with a red line so you know for sure its an enemy. Any help on this is appreciated.

In your SH3 folder go to:

data\Menu\Gui

theres a file calles ContLine.tga

You have to replace this one with the stock one and voila! there are your red contact lines. Note that the same file is used for the tails of ship contacts at higher zoom levels. So you will have a black diamond (indicating a warship) with a red tail.

However this did not detain me from doing the same. I like to see where the DD`s are when under DC attack. And in a convoy there are a bunch of black contact lines already...

A little off topic Phylacista, but how did you get your medals beside your signature?

Thanks, found it and inserted it. What a difference and makes me feel that my sonar man is now doing his job.

oO Is it easy to change that file to remove the tail from contacts, as RuB did? :)
