u-505 in chicago
i was born and raised in chicago and was fortunate to tour this boat when i was a kid of about 13. when i saw it it was still outside. now its nice to see that the boat is hangared. so for all that can't make it to chicago:
http://www.msichicago.org/exhibit/U505/index.html check out the virtual tour along with the rest of the links. are there really only 4 u-boats left in the world? make sure you play the game...not sh3 but still cool http://www.msichicago.org/exhibit/U5...and/index.html |
That's fantastic!
I especially liked the instruction on how to use the head... Rule #6: 6) (almost done) CLOSE BOTH VALVES. Though a great practical joke to leave one open, it is one that has a costly payback. Oh, and don't forget to sign out as you leave! :rotfl: S |

This is a link to all the surviving U-Boats, at least those open to the public, me thinks. http://www.dataphone.se/~ms/ubootw/museums.htm |
Cool! :|\
That would be nice to see in person. Thanks for sharing, Zoinks! |

The XXI in Bremerhaven has been modernised because it served in the Bundesmarine, so it´s not like it was back in WW2.
Cause I visited the VIIC in Labeo and the XXI lately I have some pictures of both of them. If there is interest, I may be able to host them. |

I was there just a couple weeks ago. Here are some photos if you're interested.

VttBotS was a great show. I loved the Flying Sub.

They have LARGE models now that you can buy, (like 3'!) of the FS1 and Seaview... Fun stuff! S |

Tis rather expensive no doubt!
I did get the HAL9000 model from them. Got it to light up and all. Kinda neat and I have it on my wall here at work. ;O) S |
