GWX KC Edition - some more questions

Really enjoying this version of the game but I have one gripe, "fatigue". I had to return to port because of it. This not only annoyed BDU because I only used two torpedoes (2 ships sunk) and me because, the weather was terrible and knew that when I returned there would be no medals or promotions for the lads.

Does someone have a config file with fatigue set to about 50% I could have please.

Last question, I see that around the map are supply bases and U-Boats, if I go visit them, can I resupply, will it affect my fatigue and can I continue my patrol?

Thanks in advance.

one of the best things on SH3 Commander was option to turn off the crew fatigue
to not shuffle crew all the time

iirc resupply ended current patrol and started new patrol (like returning to your base)

You can try mine. Crew wil get very slow fatigue. After 1 week you can slowely replace crew. If this is to slow for you, change the 0.0001 to 0.0002. Crew will get recovery, but slowely

Thank you. No SH3 Commander in the KC edition but I do not wish to turn fatigue off just tone it down a bit.

About the supply ship ending patrol, when you leave do you leave from the supply ship or are you teleported to your home bas.

First post, in the middle of (RELEASED) Official GWX - Knight's Cross Edition v1.0 is GWX - KC No Crew Fatigue for v1.0, if you want to go the easy route...

Rubinis underwater dust and plankton

Does Rubinis underwater dust and plankton work with GWX KC?

KUrtz

propbeanie 04-17-25 07:32 AM

That I don't know... it adds a val file to the camera file in the Library folder, but it does not look like there are any "links" to worry about... however, does it have ID conflicts, or does it over-write something else? Unknown... If you get a CTD, or some very strange behavior, then you'll know... :arrgh!: - only problem being is if you have troubles afterwards, is it the additional, or the KC mod??

Mowgli 04-18-25 03:06 AM

Can you and are there?

I seem to recall from previous games that by hitting shift F4 in previous versions of the game you could open the hatch between the control room and the radio and hydrophone room. Is this still an option in GWX KC?

I am only using the GWX KC version and was wondering if there are any more mods that enhance the game are available?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Mowgli.

You are partly right. Yes, you can open that hatch via Shift + H and close it via Ctrl + H.

resupply ships and uboats in GWX were implemented as ports, so you should continue from their location

Hi gentlemen, when leaving a resupply ship or Milk Cow U-boat, you will continue from that unit's location... not your home port.

There are two ways to dock with the resupply units:
1)The old way as I recall it works just like docking at your home port, and adds an automatic 30 days or some such to the completed duration of your patrol. However, you do depart from the resupply unit and not your home port.

2)'Pseudo-docking' which has been added by the hardcode fixes by HSie that are included in GWX-KC. It is our recommended method. See constraints below:

12. U-Tanker Mod (by Stiebler and h.sie)

"Everyone complains that, when you dock at a U-tanker in mid-ocean, you lose all your
current renown/tonnage for medal purposes, you get a full refuelling, full repairs, full torpedo
load-out and you lose the patrol grid which BdU ordered. And then you start again from the
tanker a month after you docked! (unless using SH3Patrol or SH3Commander). No longer!
Now you 'pseudo-dock' at the U-tanker. When you are close enough, you press ESCAPE,
then 'Exit Patrol', just as if you were planning to dock. However... when you are asked
'Continue mission' or 'Dock at U-463' (for example), you click on 'Continue Mission'!!!
*Now* you get 1-4 air torpedoes (loaded only into the first 4 slots of the fore internal
reserve - so make sure there is space enough!), you retain the patrol grid details, you
receive some repairs to your hull-integrity (but not to equipment) and you receive a fuel
upgrade, of up to 30% of the full capacity. Unlike conventional docking at a base, pseudodocking
is only possible if there is no 'heavy fog' and windspeed must be 10 m/s or less. After
having (pseudo-)docked at an U-Tanker, you can (pseudo-)dock again after 2 weeks. Also,
you can only pseudo-dock at U-tankers, not at surface tankers (e.g. Brake), nor at land bases.
You can still choose to dock in the old way, if you wish. If you want this mod to also work
with surface tankers, these must be renamed e.g. from "Brake" into "U-Brake" in the campaign files.
"

@Kpt. Lehmann - is there also updated PDF manual for GWX KCE?
