Seems I recall in a documentary that ASDIC, especially earlier models used 39-41 or so, a limitation was if a sub was shallow, could not detect it or had difficulties. 50-90 ft depth? Is this correct? Wondering if should modify ASDIC in game to reflect this limitation.


Also, early radars (forget the model) were fixed, meaning the escort had to be pointed in direction of sub to detect, correct?

Asdic/shallow water problem are already modeled in Stiebler's patch.

Remember I'm running OM Dark Waters SH 4 (I asked questions here because some carry over into SH 4 from SH 3 and a lot more knowledge/activity regarding U Boats.

#9 here. You must have H.sie's patch installed first. The asdic mod is an option chosen with the options selector.
Any problems, ask away. Both are easy to install but can be confusing at first.
