verdammt Weather!

I know this is an old saw, but the weather modelling in SH3 is appalling.
I have been plagued with a tremendous storm, blowing in from the same direction for 8 days. Precipitation heavy, visibility poor. I think the wind speed needle stops at 15ms, so I suspect its way harder. At night I can see nothing, so no possibilty of attack. During the day visibility is perhaps no more than 800 to 1000m. Meanwhile the game throws up plent of ships but no realistic chances of hunting them. At this point I feel the game is simply trolling me.

rant over.

Welcome to the North Atlantic.:Kaleun_Salute:

Every player ends up posting this-at times it is awful.

Had times I could hardly charge the batteries and get new "O" in the boat.

In real life, it was common for severe storms to last much longer. There are many reports of it affecting both convoy and u-boat operations.
However, if you want a different game experience it is best to use one of the modded envsim.act files.
Here is one that will work. #10 on the list.

+1!

And if using this EnvSim.act file together with Hsie patch, don’t forget to deactivate Bad Weather option in Hsie…
