I didn't know they had tolls on the Golden Gate Bridge ... they never show the toll booths in any pictures. Are they on just one side or both sides?
Surely the toll is just to pay for the maintenance of the bridge, because the bridge would've been paid for or a long time by now. :yep: |
They were on the southbound lanes on the SF side but they are now all FasTrak electronic collections. It's free to walk or bike across.

I remember seeing a photo from Ansel Adams with the subtitle Golden Gate and thinking, hmmm, it is missing something. Then realized the bridge has the name the area.
