Bought A Copy of Das Boot (Directors Cut)

I splurged as I had some extra credit on iTunes and bought a copy. Forgotten how good this movie is and its depiction of the U-Boat war -- although I think it takes place in spring '42 before the Battle of the Atlantic turned real ugly for the Germans.

I'll watch some more of it before I continue my Current career in SH III as skipper of a Type IXC-40 on cruises to the tanker rich Caribbean.

Got that a few years ago. It is the ULTIMATE movie. I love it.

Long version is the best one, and for sure Das Boat is the best U boat movie.

It begins in Autumn of 1941, the patrol was during October and November of 1941, I think!

Agreed. Even the Director's Cut leaves out a lot of good stuff. The 5-Hour 'Original, Uncut Version' is the best.

Yes agreed too, in my opinion only the uncut version is the best and or the most interesting version.
This is by far one of my favorit movie, just love this movie really.
