Man 'choked to death on wedding anniversary steak'
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-hampshire-41229563

Celebrating our 34th wedding anniversary on Wednesday. Perhaps I should choose the pasta :hmmm:

There was a fellow that lived near us a few years ago who aspirated his mac and cheese... died a couple of days later. His wife said she tried to get him to slow down eating the mac & cheese, but he wouldn't listen. She ~claimed~ to not know how to do the Heimlich Maneuver...

What's more important, I think, is are you worth more dead, or alive? ie: If you have an annual income of 35k Pounds, but have a life insurance policy worth 100k, then you might keep an eye out... :timeout:

Frankly how many people do really know how to do that? Is it more than 5% of the population? I only know how it's done because I looked it up myself. It wasn't taught in our basic first aid lessons we have to take before we can get a driver's license and also was not included in our army first aid lessons (IIRC).

And what happens if poor old Jim slips bashes his head and slumps into his soup? He could drown in it! :o

No food or drink just TV for you..Oh wait what if the TV is on the blink and you have to sort it out, death by electrocution! Forget that, old fashion roll in the hay..Oh wait you may have a heart attack and die!

Well, they taught it to us in the Boy Sprouts years ago... You can also do a Flying Elbow Drop to the sternum, and get similar results, though you might break some ribs...

The cement slippers are for after-the-fact... hide the evidence and all...

5. How to Perform the Heimlich Maneuver on Yourself

You’re sitting at home in your favorite man chair while eating a steak and watching Bridge Over the River Kwai. Right at the movie’s climatic explosion you start choking on a piece of gristle. No one is around. What do you do?
While you can’t give yourself the five back blows, you can still perform the Heimlich thrusts on yourself.
1. Make a fist and place your thumb below your rib cage, just above the navel as you would when performing the Heimlich on someone else.
2. Grasp your fist with your other hand. Press it into the area with a quick upward movement.
3. If that doesn’t work, you can also lean over a table edge, chair, or railing. Quickly thrust your upper belly area (upper abdomen) against the edge, like this:

If you can’t get the gristle out of your throat, don’t worry. You died while eating a steak and watching one of the best war movies ever made. What a way to go

Considering the life in$urance policy my $weet calculating bride never fail$ to keep up on me... the only one rescuing me ....will be me!:yeah: https://media3.giphy.com/media/26DOE...00.gif#2-grid1Not that she's necessarily cruel; it's just that she can't get her arms around me!:timeout: :damn: https://media0.giphy.com/media/3oriO...0w.gif#1-grid1

That's weird

Usually it is my wife that chokes on a steak... at least she pretends to in order to make me feel better. :D

I say - Go all in

He who dares win.

The least trouble you may face is a little pain in the head the day after. The worst trouble you may face after this wedding feast is finding yourself sitting on a white cloud with a harp and feather-like things on your back

Or perhaps something in between these two

To be fair, you probably cooked it.....

After looking at all the above I reckon my best bet will be to stick to something traditional.....a nice Lamb Vindaloo :)
