Deck Gun Crew problem (or lack thereof)...
 

Good day Gents,

I'm running SHIV with FOTRSU. In v0.58 (my last mission), I purchased the forward Deck Gun, low n' behold, not only did I lose my old DD crew I cannot add other crew members. The DD window/slot is simply blank, no boxes to add crew. I survived my mission and returned to Pearl thinking (hoping) everything would be back to norm when I repurchased the aft DD. My hopes were dashed against the rocks, when after purchasing the aft gun the blank window/slot remained.

Does anyone know how to rectify this problem? I am certain it would kill me if I had to return to a Porpoise and restart my career (for the umpteenth time).

Old Gringo, please report to CapnScurvy in the FOTRSU thread in the Mods Forum. This is a very old bug and there are fixes. So far, unfortunately, they have to be applied by the player after the fact.

Yes it's a common issue, Deck Gun & missing Deck Gun crew fixes that involve simple text editing with NotePad in your
My Documents\SH4\data\cfg\SaveGames\00000005 (or whatever your most recent in Port save number is) \ActiveUserPlayerUnits.upc file.

At least we can fix it now. Usually happens if you change the gun from fore to aft or vice versa from where it was when first installed.

Also, when you change the guns, make certain that you check your crew page when finished. Fill the empty slots with someone from the left panel, else the slots might go away anyway...
