Silent Hunter 4 Performance

Hello there fellow sailors and captains! I have been playing Silent Hunter 4 for quite some time and I had realized that when I played a campaign in the Asiatic campaign I experience no lag at all. When I play a pearl harbour campaign I lag like crazy.

I don't get how I can get so much lag in this game, it was released in 2007 and computers back then can't compare to mine as good.

My pc specs are:
AMD APU-6700 rated at 3.7ghz
AMD Radeon HD 8570 DDR3 with 2gb dedicated VRAM
8gb Ram rated at 1600mhz
OS: Windows 8.1(This might be the problem I don't know)

If you need anything else about my PC then make sure to post it and I will get back to you as fast as I can

Do you have Large Address Aware installed? The game was written to only recognize I think 2Gb of RAM. With LAA, it will allow the game to recognize your RAM.
You can find it here

How big of swap file or virtual memory do you have? The default is "Let Windows decide." Change it to something large. You have Win 8, so I can't help you on how to change it.

Do you mean that you get lag when near Pearl Harbor, or that if you start from Pearl, you get lag all the time?

Also you can try with d3d antilag. There is somewhere here at SUBSIM. And of course the 4GB Patch.

Regards.

Lag or time jumps are normal at times when around large convoys and ports. Outside of that if you have lag issues it is mostly likely caused by mod mis-order or complete incompatibility of them or a slow read/write from your hard drive.

Are you using an IDE or SATA hard drive?
Do you have Silent Hunter installed to your system drive?
Do you have Silent Hunter installed on a usb connected hard drive?

What version are you running?
What mods are you running?
