I made one (though not as colorful as yours) including the hollow rivet & string, using clear plastic sheets printed out from Kim Ronhof's plans. Useful for the TDC in SHCE.

Both sides were useful, flip it over depending what you were doing.

I made this one, found here: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=106923. It's based on the actual ones used. More info. found on the HNSA website. I also purchased a digital version of the ONI 208-J recognition manual, which I intend on printing out to have a replica recognition manual to flip through for immersion purposes. When complete, it will be about 300 pages!:o

I'd have preferred that one, but all the links there were/are dead ends. :(

I uploaded Kim's Rønhof's PDF users manual and the DC files.

In the zip are DC files to print out and cut to size.

I printed the pieces out on acetate sheets, then cut out the pieces and put it together. Also need a hollow rivet and a string to make using it easy. Both sides can be used for a useful multipurpose deluxe 'is-was'.

Just because I was in an Auto SubRon/Squadron didn't mean I didn't like to shoot Manually sometimes. I liked my CO and stayed in his SubRon for years until he left - turns out we are cousins separated by the Atlantic! - but I digress, .... BRB : )

The files are still available at HNSA. Go to the website, and at the top click on "Knowledge Base". From the drop down window, select "Manuals and Documents". Scroll down about halfway or more, until you see "Submarine Attack Course Finder". I believe you could print them out from there. Also, the tech. info on the instrument as well as examples on how to use.

Hello guys! Do you realize that the RAOBF wheel on the TDW UI can be used to solve time and speed variables and is a bearing rate computer as well? The middle part being speed and distance and the inner most part being angles and time in minutes. Did germans submariners really used the RAOBF wheel?

I assume the TDW is the TDC on a U-boat? Sorry, I'm in the vUSN...


Edit: with a little research I see that TDW = TheDarkWraith. And it appears that these are for SH5. I have SH4.

Meanwhile, the string idea seemed perfect for reading off the AoB, so I flipped the bolt and added a regular and fender washer to give me a groove for the string to stay in.

So the way it stacks up now, from back to front,

• #6 x 3/4" Bolt, and onto that goes....
• Fender Washer
• Bottom Sheet (outer ring)
• Middle Ring
• Inner Ring
• Fender Washer
• Regular Washer
• Fender Washer
• Nut
• Split Washer
• Nut

The bottom sheet is laminated front and back, the other two are just laminated on the front. The string is tied around the regular washer and simply spins around somewhat like the string on a yo-yo.
