Officer Killed During Rescue of Hiker NW of Vegas

:nope:
"A Las Vegas police officer who was rescuing a hiker stranded in an off-limits area of a mountain northwest of the city died after falling from a helicopter hoist line Monday night."

I'm sure he had family. He died while trying to save someone's life.
Lord have mercy on his soul and on his family.

Really sad to hear things like this, especially when he's trying to help someone. May he RIP

He would still be alive if the hiker had obeyed the keep out signs.

Totally agree.
I swear, sometimes people just don't think.

Thanks for sharing Wern. Prayers out to his family, friends, and members of the area's emergency services.

It's even worse. They do think and still do it because they don't care! Just like speeding on a motorway. Everybody knows the limits and deliberately ignores them: "Limits are only valid for others but not for me!".:shifty:
May he rest in peace.

Accidents happen...

Should the moron hiker be charged with involuntary manslaughter, reckless endangerment and any other charge they can think of?
I smell a civil lawsuit.:nope:

He should.
This sort of stuff happens all the time. An area is evacuated, or people are warned to stay away from an area for safety. Yet they ignore it, get in trouble and cause danger to the rescuers. I if an area is evacuated or blocked off from people, then if they are there, they are on their own. If they get in trouble, no one will come and get them.
