The Do-17 found on the English channel will be lifted soon, I'm looking forward to the day that she will go on display at Hendon. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-22380915 |
I'm afraid JU_88 beat you to it by a full hour:

Oh well, at least it was in a different forum section. :yep: |

Just keep everything crossed folks, this is going to be a very risky operation and they could end up with a jigsaw Dornier instead of an intact aircraft. In regards to why he says "it won't be here next year", which at first puzzled me because after all it's managed seventy odd years down there just fine...but then again, its location wasn't known at that point, and it's only a matter of time before the vultures descend on it and pull it apart, so it really is a case of keep everything crossed she comes up in one piece. |
I like WW2 Warbirds. A little piece of me dies every time I see one break beyond repair. :dead: :/\\!!
:sunny: |
The lift is due to take place at 21:00BST today, that's 4 1/4 hours from now.
Keep everything crossed for a successful lift. :yep: |
When I saw the thread title, I just thought "Dammit Oberon, this isn't facebook, you don't need to post every little thing you do!"
Anyway, good thing that the Do17 is coming up. Let's hope that she doesn't break up :Kaleun_Mad: |

I would hate it too if they botched the lift. We'd just have to find some blueprints and make a new one. :arrgh!: |

Which version do you like the best? I kinda like the Night Fighter version...I forget the designation. The Do 17 isn't my favorite....but I like German WW2 aircraft... :03: |
