Need help with commander
I am running GWX on a HP TX 2500 entertainment laptop. GWX loads fine. When a I go to Commander to start a patrol it loads fine with the exception. Their is nothing below to let me manage options/promote crew or start from commander.
Ideas anyone? |

Did you install the files for SH3 Commander to work with GWX?. They are a separate download. http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=147567 Kelly621 |

When you run SH3 Commander you are saying it does not look like the image linked below? Just trying to be clear....
http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/down...32_e6q_irS.jpg I installed SH3 Commander in its own folder on my C drive then ran the exec file to update SH3 commander to run with GWX 3.0. Next under options ( the wrench Icon I pointed Commander to the where I have SH3 installed. Started a new career ( won't work with existing careers you may have already in SH3 ...must be a new career), set my flotilla, start date, boat number etc. Then went back to options and set the gameplay features I wanted. Clicked the check mark icon and Commander started SH3. Once Commander had loaded SH3 I selected the captains name I selected in commander then selected the new career option in SH3 and made sure the starting year and Flotilla where the same as I previously selected in SH3 Commander...from there to the office and patrol....you won't have access to the crew options under "click for available options" until that point. You would have to exist and save in SH3 before being able to mess with the crew in SH3Commander If you have done the same but are still having a problem I am guessing that it is an installation problem |
As per your screen shot I am missing all three clickable items at the bottom.
My Captians picture looks elonginate (much more then yours). I may be having a resolution problem. What res are you running at? |
1366 x 768 on my laptop. The picture of the menu screen is actually here on Subsim....but mine looks the same and it does not open in full screen. I have never heard of a resolution problem with SH3 Commander..... I would try a complete fresh install of SH3 Commander ( corrupt files?) unless someone can come up with a solution I am unaware of.
Wish I could be of more help. Kelly621 |
It was the resolution. Everything working now.
Thanks for your help. You and other members are what make Subsim great, Ken |
Just out of interest....what resolution were you at that caused the problem with SH3 Commander? Nice to know for the next one who has this problem.
|
My eye site is not so great so I had res set for large font and icon. By doing this it made everything bigger so that the bottom of Commander was off my screen. When I reset to normal fonts and icons it allowed everything to show up on my screen.
|
Ah....That makes sense and explains it. Like you my eye sight is not what it use to be...one of the prices of getting old :o Glad you are up and running.... SH3 Commander will be worth it.

Old eyes are part of the reason I have a 28" monitor on my desk, just two-and-a-half feet away.

Just come across this and Immediately thought 'screen resolution' but your sorted now and that is all that matters

Whilst on the subject of SH3 Commander, I have a question!
I have ticked the option to display ship names in the patrol logs, which worked fine for the first two patrols, of one of my careers I have in use, then after sinking a few ships on my third patrol, it listed the type of ships sunk and the tonnage, but there was no name displayed for each ship sunk. I was wondering why, SH3 Commander is no longer showing this information in the patrol logs. The first two patrol logs are still listing the ship names. Can anyone explain why? The option to supply this information is still ticked in my SH3 Commander |
When you review your patrol log are you then pressing the update button?
