Ability to repair destroyed (0%) system

Hey guys,

I am just wonderring about the engineers ability to repair destroyed systems but everytime I have ordered him to do so, he denied.
So my suggestion is to create a mod that you can repair destroyed systems up to 25% or more.
For example: I was on patrol when I got into cat and mouse play with a destroyer. You know, depthcharges etc. at the end I have no diesel and electric engines left destroyed 0 %. Want to use the special ability of engineer to repair destroyed system but nothing. So that's the situation.
Is it possible to create such a mod or is a mod still fixing this problem.
A fast response would be nice.

Best regards,

Eh. So, what the above two schmucks are giggling about is the understanding that if you are at depth and you have no prop, you cannot surface, your damage is so high (nothing left of the engine - 0%) - not much can you do.

Let me explain it in this way: if you have a piece of equipment and it is brand new and working awesomely - it is at 100%. Well, 0% means that there is nothing left of the thing. There are no backups, there are not even much of pieces left to identify the piece of equipment you have. Which means: no matter how good your mechanic is, there is no way in the world you will be able to repair it.

I believe that the above is exactly why there are no such mods around. To say the least there are actually opposite mods around: Long Repairs, ie...

So, if you can surface - I would suggest peddle towards nearest port. If not - well, pray for your lost crew.

Thunderbolt surfacing from the abyss with few pieces of his electric engines at hand, and desperately trying to put them together, is a scene that I wouldn't miss for the world :har:

No offense meant, matey :D

If I understand you Targor Avelany properly, you said 0% means nothing left to repair. But there cant be a block of smelt metal or do you mean the motor block has a crack then it would be plausible.
On the other hand the descrition of the ability to repair destroyed systems is wrong. So it should be named like this: "Repair Damaged Systems". Then I havent anything to complain about.
By the way, would it be in theory possible to create such a mod!

Thanks

The mod you are looking for is.....

Raising the Dead--The J.C. mod. :har: And now for something completely different...We had talked about resupply from milk cows, other subs, and bases. But as the others have said, you at least have to have something there to work with. Zero is zero, no matter what. And unless you made it back to a base (hoist the mainsail, matey), the game would still read zero. Until it resets, there is not much you can do. They have talked about variations of that on other threads. And if you are stuck on the bottom with no way out, that would be a good time to practice holding your breath a really long time.... :salute:

It would be pretty cool though, to have the ability to radio Bdu or send out an s.o.s. when back on the surface. And if there was a random chance of getting an answer saying for example ' sending vessel to assist', or no help in your area' or something. Would be cool if you could get towed to port or be given assistance, like we can now with refuelling at sea. Just think if a German ship or boat spawned in the area and the 'Refit' box appeared.
It would be nice.

Don't forget that when Enigma code was broken, your SOS would have bring some airplanes (if you're lucky) or destroyers (if you're unlucky) more or less quickly, i guess :hmmm:

Hey folks,

your suggestions of using the radio to call for help is awesome. But when a milkcow arrives then it would be possible to repair your engines completely. Because the milkcows have spare parts, mechanics and other great u-boat stuff for supply.
The only thing is that when you use the radio it must be 100% chance of that the milkcow will come when your enignes are broken! That's the only condition I have.
To All your great modders, is it possible to do such a mod for SH5 that you can fix your engines on patrol I am not talking about the hull integrity.
The mod can be a little dedication to the movie U-571.

A little dedication to one of the worst movies ever made?

Sorry, couldn't resist.
