CTD with "F" key
 
Just started my new career with OHII....but everytime I hit the F key (periscope depth)...I get a CTD ...but only (see next post) at the Hydrophone station. Here is my list of MODS....will research a bit more and try to see if it crashes elsewhere.

Just tried it again...this time I selected depth 20 from the hyd station vice hitting F. Same result....CTD. :dead: Rinse repeat...... i'll keep trying. .....again...but not at Hydrophone station....just climbed down the ladder and clicked the depth meter to initiate a dive.....CTD. Will try in single missions mode next... Alright ...this time....single mission...I go down the ladder...on the surface....select "R" key for surface the boat..and get another CTD.....aka nothing should happen im already on the surface. So is something wrong with the scripts for diving??? stuck! HELP! haha

Did you start a new career with the special starting instructions for OH2 .

Delete the save game folder found in my documents .

Start a new career and then once the tutorial starts exit out .

Go to the new sh5 save game folder Documents\SH5\data\cfg\CareerHistory and chage this line .
HasCompletedTutorial=false
to
HasCompletedTutorial=true

Start a new career and then once in the bunker exit out and then go to the load save screen and load the bunker save that was just created .

Exit out and go to the ingame options and change the realism settings to whatever you want . Then go back to the bunker again .

Click on the technical officer and make sure you can enter the upgrade screen .

Click on the flotilla comander and choose a mission .

Choose start a mission and make sure you get a loading screen before you are placed on the sub .

yeah ...did all of that in that exact order.


Guess I'll update to .6.9.0. So I'm assuming...I'll disable the MODS (bottom to Top via JSGME) until the UI Mod...enable .6.9.0...then reload the rest of the MODs?

Go into the mod enabler and click on Tasks\save mod profile . Once saved go into the MEP file just created and add the new ui 6.9.0 with notepad Overwrite the old one . Go back to the mod enabler and click on Tasks\load mod profile . The mod enabler will auto load what ever order you have on the MEP file .

Got a good reload of the MODs afer updating the UI's.......started new career...

Still got the CTD once I tried to initiate a dive. :nope:

Well....I guess a clean install..:wah:..and running the game after any change should narrow it down. Let you know if I can pinpoint it.

It must be previous mod soup . I hit the F key while below decks and went to periscope depth . I hit the Fkey while on deck and get the message cannot submerge now crew on deck . Also note that you cannot teleport unless you have first been below decks after loading a save or starting a career , then once you have been below once you can teleport as normal .

Hmmm. I was able to teleport just yesterday after loading a save where I was submerged (specially made to test if it's still bugged). Appeared on the conning tower, teleported to one of the scopes (IIRC, attack scope).
though previously such attempts teleported me to the seabed instead :)

Think I isolated it to MCCD_1.04 mod. Basically took all the Mods away...and it worked....so I reinstalled all of the MODS...took them off one by one from the bottom until I could dive the sub without issue. I'm going to re-read that MOD page to see if their is any conflicts.

Sober...you still got that MOD to work tho right?? edit: Seems I need 1.04 compatible with the Might fine crew mod...vice just 1.04.

Wait, have you been using plain MCCD? There is a MFCM compatibility version, you should use that instead.

There is also this fix by Rubini, but you may have to manually edit commands.cfg and menu.txt if you're not using Stormy's DBSM (otherwise you'll get the keyboard layout from that mod).

FIXED! ....was not using the correct version of MCCD with Mighty Fine Crew installed. Need to slow down when installing MODS apparently!
