Annoying enemy sub - time compression?

Hi,

Yesterday I continued on a newly started campaign, and after a while I came over a single enemy sub cruising north of Scotland.

I ran on the surface and it spotted me and started to cruise back and fourth and followed me.
I was out of ammo, so I tried to set the sub to "flank speed" to get away from the sub and increased time compression.

My problem was that the timecompression automatically reduced itself (because I was close to the enemy sub), and the sub continued to follow me, so I was stuck on low time compression with a annoying mosquito sub which I didn't get away from.

Does anyone know if there is a option or a setting to prevent the timecompression to reduce itself whenever there is a nearby enemy ship?

By the way, I'm running the great mod The Dark Wraith's UI mod.

Thanks :)

if you use travel mode the tc is still droping?

When a sub or ship latches onto you the only way to get rid of it is to save and reload. This is a stock bug and can happen with friendlies too.

Wow, I had the same encounter north of Scotland yesterday, I found it thrilling! Fired the sub with deck gun, but didn't hit it in the storm, and the sub dove. I followed it to periscope depth and listened it location. We were really close, and I even planned to fire a torpedo at it, but decided to give up and save my last torpedos. So we finally departed, but it was really nice change for the usual patrol routines. I even was bit scared if it would fire torpedo at me, but I guess the AI can't do that.

But for the actual question, I used travel mode to make time scaling possible, first at 64 x speed, then higher. No problems for me.

they can and will fire torpedoes at you if you are using IRAI.

Ok, nice to know (I'm using IRAI). But i'm pretty sure that enemy subs don't fire torpedoes at player submarine if they both are submerged. At least that was the situation with my encounter. But it doesn't matter, if I have understood, it almost never happened in real life.

The sub traveling around Ireland is an invincible sub, you cannot sink her. Even hit takes no damage. Was reported few times by others and I also meet her once. She dodged my first torpedo, second one barely scratched her paint, then she dived and got lost. Think its a ghost sub.

Hmm...

I tried this, but it didn't work actually. I guess I have to reload the game from somewhere before I met this sub.

But I remember from modding SH3 or SH4 that there was some cfg file or something which could be altered to change the "trigger actions" for timecompression drop.

If someone can remember which file this was it would be of much help.

i sh5 go to:
C:\Users\Administrator\Documents\SH5\data\cfg

edit the main.cfg file with notepad and look at these lines:
TimeStop=0
RealTime=1
LandProximity=8,8192
CriticalDamage=1,1024
CrewEfficiency=128
AirEnemyDetected=1,8
SoundEffects=2
CharacterAnim=32
FriendDetected=32,8192
EnemyDetected=8,64
RadioReport=32,8192
Particles=32
PrayState=8,32
HunterState=8,32
3DRender=32
Maximum=8192

change them to suit your taste

regards

When i have ships or subs attaching themselves to me I wait till dark, surface run at flank speed with TC at 2048 and somtimes i can run any from them,If I have the room.I have had 80% luck with this.

There is a bug where a ship will latch onto you.
The fix is to save - reload.

Perharp this one was stalking you :D
