[REL] Realistic Torpedoes

SH5 has lot of things that they disturb me and one of them were torpedoes ...I must say that in SH5 we have best torpedo models ever, but they still can't compare with what Hans did.I manage to port them in SH5...And it looks great...

1.HAHD torpedo models and textures for SH5.
2.Electric torpedo trails completely reworked to be more realistic.
3.Air trails extended and also more what they should be.
4.File is compatible with excellent TDW FX mod(version 0.5) and is JSGME ready.

This mod is based on excellent HAHD Torpedo mod made from Hans Witteman for SH3.Check his tread in SH3 mod workshop. You'll be surprise what he had done already.

Complete mod:http://www.filefront.com/17478703/To...d_v1.0beta.rar
-this version is still in beta stage,so be gentle with critisism.
-known problems(beside the official one-like magnetic pistol don't work...):
1.Torpedoes are blurry underwater.
2.Ejecting from torpedo tube to fast.
3.Torpedoes can't be seen from air.

I'll post some more screenshots later...

P.S: Sorry for my poor English...

Splendid mod! Compatible with TDW FX mod(version 0.5)? Great! Thank you very much!

electrically powered torpedoes have no trails...at least it seems logical to me ... where they are to come from??:o

only gas or steam-powered torpedoes have a bubble-train

Ach... I have tested now this mod and... I looked forward to the mod with a new wave behind the torpedo, but in this mod is regulated a bubble-train (my mistake).

Olzeen, you´re right, it is not realistic.

2 Olzeeen: I know. It was a compliment, that this mod is compatabile with TDW FX mod. I use wamphyris62 great "no torp bubbles" mod, but I thought that someone created a wave behind the torpedo... I was looking forward too soon...

Oby The trails should be longer and wider, can make?

tonschk 11-05-10 04:55 AM

:salute:Thank you :DL Oby  the stock torpedo trails are awful

New stuff on first post...Hope you'll like it...:salute:

Ok Oby thx, but, do your mod remove Electric torpedo trails ?????
Or must I install " remove eltric torpedo trails " mod after yours ?

@ josef

It is meant to represent a fast faded cavitation E-torpedo trail...Just not exactly authenthic...Need to implement new texture for it...

...but they are longer...It can be done for sure...But need to solve primary bugs first...

quad5 11-05-10 09:04 AM

Excuse, with long everything is all right. Has cleaned TexturesTorpedoMod1.0 and the trace became wide and long.

Olzeen 11-05-10 06:55 PM

cavitation occurs under pressure .. ... this is ridiculous .... any electrically powered torpedoes!! have no tracks .....

lol oby...not exactly authentic???? .....cavitation on torpedoes...low weight and lower deepness....lol
read wiki and let....:haha::har:

would be this torpedo 400000kg weight and 500 meters deep, there would cavitation ....

invites you this mod ... Wamphyri facing what he is talking
SAILOR STEVE::: please help me .. I find it sad that people do not know which are thus brought to false assumptions ... it's all about historical correctness

sry for bad english....i use a translate app:damn:

You sure know that cavitation is not dependant on weight? And depth does REDUCE the possibility of cavitation, since the boiling temperature is rising with depth. I would not laugh at others and then shame yourself.

Effects that support cavitation on torpedoes: high speed (not the torpedo itself, but its propeller), low depth.

So, exuse me for: :har:
