SH 5 units of measure?

I haven't grabbed the game yet but was curious - does it uses metric or English units? I'm guessing metric since we're talking about U-boats but would like to make sure.

I plan to use a maneuvering board to help with firing solutions, so knowing the units of measure will be a big help.

Thanks!

Metric, but also Knots, which are not metric.

And that's one of the weirdest things in maritime history. Originally a nautical mile as accepted as 2000 yards, but in 1929 the standard was established as exactly 1852 meters, or 2,025.372 yards, or 6,076.1155 feet.

So oddly enough, a nautical mile really is metric.

Unfortunately you're right... in a way... you know... you cheat and such... and I hate you... again. http://img822.imageshack.us/img822/4344/crazy2.gif

I was sure - though I didn't rethink that thoroughly - that 1 naval mile is defined as 1 minute of latitude on equator, which would make it a non-metric value, thus making also knots non-metric... But I was wrong. :88)
