fps drop in horizon
Hi all, new here. Just started with sh3 + gwx and geeeeeeeeee I feel in heaven although I have spent more time reading the forums than actually playing. Awesome game and awesomer community :yeah:
I just have a little problem, and am sure 99% it has to do with my computer specs: everything works just fine but when I look at the horizon (free view, periscope, bridge...) my fps drop dramatically. Everything works fine when I am under water or looking at the sub or ships from top. Everything is fine until the screen reaches the horizon. It does not happen though when I use the binoculars or when zooming in with the periscope. Is there a setting I can make use of to fix that? |
Did you enable 16k atmosphere at all?,if so disable it and check again. This particular feature of GWX3 is graphically more intensive than the default setting.
Also check you have no advanced features enabled on your graphics card, features like anisotropic filtering and anti aliasing, having these on in some games can cripple fps. Welcome to the pack by the way :arrgh!: |

As Paul has already stated, check out his ideas and let us know what mods you have enabled. |
Hi! I'm having the same problem. Inside and on deck while looking through binos, everything is fine. On deck without binos and through periscope on low magnification my fps drops all the way to around 5 per second. I'm pretty sure it isn't my laptop, because it can run SH4 just fine. I don't have any mods installed but I would install an env mod if it fixes this problem. I really want to get this game to work. Thanks

You both need to post system specs and any mods enabled.
|
You can also try panning 360 degrees, that sometimes helps with fps lags.

I am having the same problem, but i an look at horizon easily, the lag appears when i look at the crew!
