Update to the solution solver app is ready.
After packing away the code some months back and using the program quite abit, I found two minor issues... and i just now finally got around to dealing with them. While i had it all open, i decided to do one extra thing.
The downloads area: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/down...o=file&id=1358 Questions and problems should be directed to the main thread: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=156698 ------------------------------------------------------------ 1.3.3 Changleog: Calculator: Fixed a possible "divide by zero" crash. Distance Chart: No longer shows conversion tool-tip with lift click (right click only) Speed Solver: Added the Silent Hunter 5 ship lengths into the length browser. You now have both SH4 & SH5 ship lengths to use for the speed solver. ------------------------------------------------------------------ This is the data my parser fetched for me. It may or may not be compete. There was atleast one entry (maybe more) that kept crashing the SHIV length parser, so i changed it to ignore entries that didn't have a .cfg file for them. I provide it here incase someone wants to make a chart or something. Ship,Length in meters Code:
Queen Elizabeth Battleship,190 |
If someone has a need for it... i can change the parser to spit out everything
.ie Length, Width, Mast Height, Speed, Draft and show it in a better format. |
Got my first kill with the speed solver in SH5. Cimmaron Class Tanker, Length 139.6m
30 seconds from bow to stern = 9knots. The speed was bang on. :D The speed solver along with my physical AOB wheel, and he was dead without a single map plot or stadimeter reading. Note: Currently the Speed Solver is the only part of the program i use in SH5. I have a physical AOB wheel i use now so no longer need the integrated Intercept wheel (& the lead angle solver is redundant in U-Boats). I'm thinking of making the speed solver a standalone app. Due to the modular design i used, it's only a matter of taking that control and dropping it into a fresh project. |
Awesome work once again!

Just an FYI for any new users:
Since the ship length browser is not mentioned in the manual (was a late addition).. it is opened from the speed solver with the little icon next to the length entry window. when you find the ship in question, just double click on it's name and the speed is sent to the speed solver's length field. |
