I have not tested that mod, but maybe this can help.

Hmm, the map only shows numbers on the bigger squares...
But anyway, since the radar and hydrophone can cover the whole big square, its ok.
Thanks for your reply.

Oh, the ingame isn't marked that way, but you can use that as a sort of reference. I.e., square 99 is the the extreme bottom-right grid AL 03, square 55 is the center, etc. If you're using GWX, the pullout map on the navigation screen also has an inset explaining that.

Which pullout navigation screen? There is a clash between Thomsens sound mod and some of the intergrated orders in GWX3

Weiss Pinguin 01-22-09 05:39 PM

Hmm. :hmm: Can't help with the sound mod/integrated orders, but in the top-left corner of the navigation screen there are some pullouts. The one farthest left (Tan colored) is the map I was referring to.

the pull out map has the squares? can you zoom in on that? glad i found this thread, guessing wasnt working so hot

Sorry, but hydrophone coverage isn't that big. I don't know the exact sizes of the gridsquares but the hydrophone circles (34km radius, and iirc radar is significantly less) can fit a couple of times inside the short edge. As the big image shows with AN18 you have to subdivide the grid yourself (twice) in 3 equal parts horizontally and vertically using lines.

Each KM grid square is approx 100 KM
EG AN 18 - 100KM square ish

AN1801 is around 33KM square IIRC
Something like that anyways
Hydraphone wont reach all sections of grid

Weiss Pinguin 01-24-09 05:21 PM

Hydrophones are only good out to 20, maybe 30 kilometers, if I remember correctly. :hmm: And that's in good conditions.

Yeas, I meant the big squares. The subdivided squares are on par with hydro or contained within them.
