GWX 2.1
|
GWX made SH3 the way it should have been from the begining :yep:
|
And I wonder why the creators of the game didn't make the game like this
Lazyness? |

Wow, I love the fact that you can navigate by the stars in this.
http://www.tinkernut.com/archives/153 http://www.quietbay.net/Science/astronomy/nightsky/ I have a problem... I got 2.1 installed and started a career and all was hunky dory until my 1st convoy a month and a half in. Now when I try to load any saved games it goes from the not so long ago... screen (which takes forever to load) and then crashes to desktop. When I fire up the game and try a single encounter the game works fine and I can get my sub fix that way but what besides restarting the campaign from scratch do I need to do to get my game back? I'm really missing out on the dynamic campaign. Please help! |
Hi there Scape
 Hi Scape
Remember not to save the game more than 3-three times. And not save the game close to ships, convoys etc in a radius of 50 km:yep: Then the game crash to desktop. GOOD LUCK:sunny: |
By the way Scape
:D Hi again Scape.
You know this GWX with all of it wonderful mods , it's a huge file:yep: You must be patience. You can use the mod (if you use JSGME) called for " Lite Harbor Traffic " if you want ,the mod is gonna speed up your load bar a bit |
Thank you!
I thought lite traffic was by default in this version. Anyway I will try again... dam I didn't know about the three saves thing. Haven't played the game since 2.0 but I guess I never had to worry about that. I hear upgrading the cpu helps the load bar too :) Anyway. When do you save as a rule of thumb, top of the month? Last I need a good youtube tutorial on how to aim my shots. getting really rusty. |

Before I save the game, I dive, take a manual sound check, and if there's no propeller sound, I surface and save. With this procedure I didn't have a CDT for ages. :smug: |
Long load times for GWX are normal. Mine takes anywhere from 3-5 minutes for the game to load; the museum seems to take much longer. Try not to save your game in periods of rain & fog. From what I've read here, saving a game during these bad weather conditions seems to to reset the weather "clock" so you end up with extended periods of crappy weather.
P.S. This page: http://silent-hunter-addict.com/Ques...m_Members.html can answer many questions regarding SH III (including CTD's). It may save you some time & frustration... |

because not many casual gamers will enjoy getting killed time and time again whenever they engage the enemy head on. fighting in the battle of the atlantic is a fine art. having said that, without the dev team's work we wouldnt even be here at all, of course. just another 2 cents |
There's some good tips here I didn't know about like , Saveing in bad weather.
Thx All. |

I've posted more than once that statements like that make me pull my hair out. GWX still can do nothing about any problems that are hardcoded, and there are quite a few. GWX is not the be-all end-all of SH3, it's just a very good mod collection that does make the game much better. But there are others, and they all have their rabid fanboys. Quote:
And before you blame UBIsoft for forcing them to rush it, remember that the publisher doesn't put up that kind of money because they love the game; they spend money to make money, and they don't make money waiting years for the developers to finish the product. "Lazyness?" I hate it when people make snide cracks like that. Would you rather they didn't bother at all? Why don't you develop a game if you're going to put down the dev team like that. I just got back from meeting one of them, and you have no clue what you're talking about. They bust their butts to try to make a good game for us, and if they didn't there would be no game for GWX or anyone else to mod. And the modders will tell you exactly the same thing. |
