Water density within Commander 1.3

After playing around with Commander for a while, which is great mind you,I am interested in the water density section. For each score ie 1.2.3 and so on what would each score represent? eg,1 may represent 1m?,even though it probably doesnt.
I think jimbuna mentioned somewhere that vis. could be as high as 50m in some places?.
Other than particular areas of the world, what else could affect water density/vis?.

Thanks.

There was a recent post regarding the ability to see clearly through the periscope. You might do a search for it. One responce claimed the setting of 3 was roughly equal to 50-meters. The stock game and GWX seems to be to clear and I think it is set on 18. I just reduced my setting to 3 because it's probably more realistic.

:yep: They don't mean anything specific, but 1 is blind and at 20 "I can see for miles".

Well I decided to go with 5,and that seems ok for me.I can just make out the bow of the boat and feel happy that its quite realistic.
I also found out the length of the IXC was about 76m,so 3-5 seems a good number.
Sorry,I know we discussed this earlier in another post somewhere,I guess it happens a lot in here, going over 'old ground' ...Oh well ;)

Thanks ;)
