Lifeguard question
I was assigned to lifeguard duty to save downed pilots when I did a refit and checked in with my location and status, so I was only a short distance from the assigned site. It says to report no later than Nov 11th, it is now Oct 5th. Does that mean that nothing is going to happen for a month? Or does my being there trigger the event?
So, basically should I stay there or come back next month? Peabody |
Being apprx within 5 nm of the icon triggers the action.

Thanks PV, I was hoping it would. I have never done a lifeguard mission. Do they pop smoke? Do I just patrol around the area or will I get reports of downed airmen?
edit: Just went back into the mission and I don't know if the airstrike will happen it's a monsoon!! Peabody |
Do a search on this forum for lifeguard or rescue mission. This is one of the more detailed missions and there is a lof of info in the discussions you'll want to learn.

more problems with lifeguard mission
Hi All,
I've read at least 6 posts on how to do this mission but unfortunately I've had 3/4 attempts and I'm still having a problem. Forgive me if I'm being daft. In short I'm not seen anything, no pilots and only the odd jap plane taking pot shots at me. I'm siting 100m from marker for days, and there's no action. I've tried driving around, I've tried sitting on marker... nothing. In the end reload with map markings on, still nothing and i've been on station for 48 hours. Do I just keep waiting or what am I missing? Thanks in advance for your help. If you refer me to another thread please provide links. |
Yea I hate that one... sometimes I just skip it.
But here give this a read "Beery's How to complete a mission" http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=111509 |
