Where can I find U.S. Sub Commander Training Manuals ? Does anyone know where I can find actual WWII ERA Training Manuals that the actual Skippers used back then to learn the use of the TDC and the TBT as well as the Training Manuals that gave the WWII skipper the order of the Commands and Procedures that he was to carry out and what Commands to give to the crew and when to give those commands That is to say....is there some place on the Internet where I can see and Download the very Training Manuals used by the WWII U.S. Sub Skippers....to learn thier Craft....I'm talking about the real Core of thier Training . the use of the TDC , TBT , and all the Procedures and Commands while at " BATTLE STATIONS TORPEDO " Where on-line can I find these Battle Stations Torpedo Training Manual Pages. the ones the Skippers would train with at The U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis ? Waiting to hear from some of you Gentlemen on this Respectfully , RED JOHNSON . |

The closest I know to tactics and procedures is this manual of submarine doctrine:
http://www.ibiblio.org/hyperwar/USN/...oct/index.html It's not exactly what you asked for, but close enough to help you learn lots of things you are probably interested in:up: |
Hitman, that's quite a link!:o I've never seen that before:up:
I'd also like to add the Submarine Torpedo Fire Control Manual 1950 which is possibly the best thing I've ever read. it has plenty of commands and responses too. http://www.hnsa.org/doc/attack/index.htm |
At Red's direct request I did a little digging, and lo and behold, Google really IS your friend. I see that Joe beat me to it, but he only posted the one link, so I'll link to the overview:
http://hnsa.org/doc/index.htm#sub Scroll down and you'll see the actual TDC manual. Also a whole lot of cool stuff, including an operator's manual for PT boats! Well, that's all I could find. If it's not enough, too bad!:p I'm off to spend the rest of the day reading manuals.:rotfl: ps Hitman's link is pretty awesome too. |
