Deck gunner eaten by shark! Help!

OK so the subject of this post is total bull but as a new forum member here I figured it would put a smile on someones face rather than another newbie in need of advice topic.

So my real quesiton is .. As a new player to this game I just installed the 1.4 patch and the game seems OK. I keep reading about the various mods which have been done and would like to know what the must have / shouldn't play without mods are for a 1.4 patched version of the game.

Thanks,

Deathnooky

There are sveral good mods out there.

Trigger Maru - What I use, gives a good balance between realistic and fun
http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=115258

Real Fleet Boat - Mod's goal is to reproduce a totally realistic experience
http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=125529

Reflections on the Water - Must have graphics mod
http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=122408

Run Silent, Run Deep - Changes the layers to recreate naval engagements throughout the war
http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=123467

Use the mod enabler to install them

Trigger aru and Real Fleet Boat are the main mods. They cannot be used together. The other two mods can be used with either trigger maru or real fleet boat. See the threads for more info/ install instructions

Don't forget Natural Sinking Mechanics, which changes how enemy vessels are sunk. Stock SH4 uses hit points, NSM uses bouyancy. IOW, in NSM ships sink not because they've run out of hit points, they sink because you've flooded enough compartments.

If you send the Developers $10,000 you get the head, the tail... the whole damn thing.

*wonders what kind of sharks are in the Black Sea*

(I think that's the one Romania borders).

Thank you very much for the suggestions. I will start playing with mods this week and see how it goes. I have to say I really enjoy the game but find the multiplayer lacking big time. Who do you have to bribe around here to find a good multiplayer game?

Rumor has it there's a really good voice command mod too :) (see signature!)
