No Dials in Conning Tower!
 

hello, after installing the new patch, my gato and gar class subs (the ones i use the most) have no dials in the conning tower. i uninstalled, and reinstalled, then applied the patch, and the same problem still exists. can someone tell me how to clean out SH4 in the registry or what do i have to do to erase all traces of SH4 to try to get my conning tower dials back in my gato.

Are you loading a saved game when you do all of this? Or starting a new one from scratch? If your loading a saved game, funky behavior of this type is to be expected. Always return to port before applying a patch or mod. Never do either while at sea.

i installed a fresh install of game, patched up to 1.4, and still the same, no dial in my conning tower. just black circles. i even tried d/l a new patch from another site. nothing is working. i create a new carrer each time. same thing happens in the single missions and war patrols. the dials are there w/ the 1.3 patch. just not in the latest. how do i erase totally any trace of SH4 on my computer besides just uninstalling.

could i install anew game patched to 1.3 and copy files over. what files would i need to copy over from 1.3 to get my dials back. this is driving me nuts. i do not understand why when i have uninstalled/reinstalled this game six times today, erased all save games, my dials are just black circles in the conning tower after applying the new patch when they are fine w/ 1.3. i have d/l the patch from three diffrent places as of now .

FWIW, I have dials in the two or three different subs I checked via Quick Missions.

im missing conning tower dials for the gato, gar, tambor, and balao. all share the same interior folder in data. going to try and swap some files around.

I can confirm there are no dials in the gato .

NSS_Gato_CT DAT file in data/interior/NSS_Gato i think is the file responsible. i placed a 1.3 file of the same in the interior gato folder, and got the dials back, however, my scopes are broken again and will not go up automatically (Cntl Pageup)

if someone could post that one file that is patched to 1.4, you may help out all us having this problem.

Well, at least it's reproduced, verfied, and narrowed down.

and not a very goood sighn of good pre release testing.

OK, found a work around. i downloaded the old RnL Periscope mod. the mod that fixes the periscope problem in prior patched versions. anyway, i downloaded it, and pulled the USS_Gato_CT DAT file out of the R&L_int_Periscope_1.3/Data/Interior/NSS_Gato folder, and placed the downloaded file in the SHIV/Data/Interior/NSS_Gato folder.

so far my dials are back in the gato, gar, balao, and tambor. will report problems if, well, i mean when i find them. hope this helps for some that may have this lil' bug.

No dials in the conning tower for me, as well. I activated Jake's MetalHud mod http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=122689 and I am back in business!

Thanks for the fix Factor. This works great for me (had the black dials problem in the same 4 boats).

No big deal (at least not to me). All it means is i have one CT.dat file in Tmaru instead of four of them. Bugged or not, i still reduce the mods D/L size, and that's good enough for me.

I'm another with the missing gauges after patching. I'm sure it's not a mod issue because I never used them.

Which of the Anvert files fixes this? I couldn't tell by the filename in the referenced link mentioned here. I suspect UBI will be offering a fix for this soon. I can wait since I don't USE those dials.
