Problem with Skins and Mods
Hi all, I really enjoy your forums, well done done and informative. I have a problem with using some mods, kind of hard to explain. I am running a 1.4b patched SH3 + GWX 1.03, SH3 Commander 2.7 with the GWX 1.03 SH3 Commander Configuration Files and the combined skin pack and JSGME. So far so good, everything seems to run well. On some skins and mods that I download, such as Wolfehunters IXB skins
links: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=122324 http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=123571 and Racerboys SH4 effects for SH3, when I try to enable them on JSGME after I unzip them to my SH3 mods folder they make copies. Bear with me here. It puts a copy of the file right in my SH3 folder and the other one stays in the mods folder. Ive tested it and when that happens they don't seem to work. On some when I enable them they don't make copies outside the mods folder and they work fine. An example is Wolfehunters VIIB skin. link: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=122288 which works real good and looks amazing. BTW it is a RAR file, the rest that don't seem to work are 7zip or ZIP. If someone could help me out I would really appreciate it. Thanks, Patrick |
Welcome aboard, My Zip files have sub folders. When you open one of my skins you will see Wolfehunter_IXB_STD_V1_1. Click on it and you should see another folder inside. Its that folder that you drag and drop onto JSGME. Then enable it
So below example, Wolfehunters_IXB_C_MK2.zip open it and see Wolfehunter_IXB_C_MK2 click on it and see Wolfehunter_IXB_C_1024 ....... Thats the one you want to transfer. Why I do this. Some of my work has 2 resolution details. Standard 1024 high and super high 2048 for those who have systems that can handle the heat. For Racerboy he to has sub folders. RB_SH4_Effects_for_SH3_2_02.7z open it and click on the following RB_SH4_Effects_for_SH3_2_02 You should see a readme and his second folder thats the one you drag and drop. Goodhunting and I hope it helps. |
Excellent, everything works perfect, thanks so much.
