If i ping a ship equiped with hydrophone , would he notice me?
Cause i can got ping sound from escort I think they also can do so from my ping .

And one thing always confuced me is once a ship is pinging me why i can get it's sound in every bearings?
In my opinion, it only come from the ship's bearing ,not all bearing around.

If you ping a ship which has passive sound - detection ( hydrophones ) it will certainly hear you, pinpoint your bearing and come after you.

Not sure what you mean by "every bearing" - the actual in-game sound you hear of a ship pinging is for effect, but everyone inside a submarine being targeted by SONAR / ASDIC would be aware of it and would hear trhe searcher.

An active ping near an enemy vessel will certainly wake them up. Now what qualify as 'near' I have no idea.

But when they got my ping why they know where i am?
Because I neither can know where dose their ping come from.

every bearing means all bearing from 0 to 360.
Is sonar ping sound loud enough so that we can hear even without hydrophone?

Isn't there an ultrasonic (higher than normal hearing frequency) sonar ping that they use for short range?

Will only be heard if the surface ship has sensors to pick up the sound.

Even if ping radiate 360 .....its like a bulb illuminating on me
so there is shadow that we can't hear the ping.

A good thing making more challenge is now it have reason to use hydrophone to caculate range instead of sonar ping to keep from spotted.

On contemporary platforms yes. I dont think they had this technology in WW2.

They also have broad spectrum pings that actually sweep from sub sonic to ultra sonic and everything in between.

As far as being able to hear the ping without sonar... if you were close enough you could actually feel the ping but youd have to be very close indeed.

They (the opponent) should not reasonably solve a bearing with a single ping but it damn sure lets them know something is out there.

1. The tooltip says it will alert them but ive been pinging convois and it did not alert the escorts. I think it can alert escorts when you are pinging from very close range directly agains escort ship.

2. Its not in every bearing. When you are very deep or behind the escort the pings stop. Thats not because they stopped it but because youre outside of the arc. So its directional.
