Am I dead?

Had a bit of a barney with a liberty ship after a convoy battle. I sank him he kicked my ass before that. I suffered a bit of damage, 3 crew killed and down to about 74% HI. Then a destroyer turned back from the escort and so I dived. Problem is I seem to be the onbly person on this boat. All controls working fine but when I go to the Hydrophone room I gethttp://img299.imageshack.us/img299/6...3440718uc5.png

And when I go to the control room I get this view

Where is everyone?

I dont mind them jumping ship but I'm very pissed off that they wouldn't bring me with them:down:

Wow looks like a graphics error are your Drivers and stuff updated?

Foghladh_mhara 06-05-07 07:21 PM

Well nothing has changed in my PC since I last played yesterday. The system itself is only 3 months old and cost me 2 grand! Double memory, dual core whatsitcalled and enough processing power to send men to the moon.

That's not really too much...i remember reading somewhere that the mission computer on the NASA Lunar landing vehicle in the Apollo mission pales in comparison to a (brace yourself)....486 or early Pentium CPU :D

What mods do you have installed?

Telgriff 06-05-07 08:24 PM

The only conclusion I can get from the pics is that you are still alive, but your crew are MIA or a graphics glitch (seeing as sections of the Boat are missing from the rooms). If you look in the crew management window, are their people allocated for those sections? If you were dead it should throw you to a summary screen.

Either that or when you went to sleep...you woke up on a ghost ship in another dimension..... *scary background b grade spooky movie music*

486 for NASA? Nice.... Considering Cell phones can now run Doom 1 and 2 without problem.

Yes it happened to me this week after being dc'd although the crew were still alive. I presume it was irrepairable.
When I went on my next mission it was fine.

Are you by any change in the bermuda triangle atm?

Never seen anything like it, must feel very spooky.

Considering that we sent men to the Moon using a navigational computer that had 2K of RAM and 36K of ROM, that really isn't all that impressive.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apollo_Guidance_Computer

I have a calculator that is several times more powerful.

Actually, it pales in comparison to the original IBM PC.

There are wristwatches today that are more powerful than an Apollo Guidance Computer.

NO you are not dead, somehow you have ended up in the Train Station. While your there, see if you can find out what's up with the SHIV code. Just hang tight till we make it to Brest and speak with the frenchman.

tenakha 06-06-07 09:21 AM

someone asked for a frenchman? :p

Foghladh_mhara 06-06-07 12:38 PM

Waited till the DD buggered off and surfaced. Hit Esc and returned to base and all back to normal again on the next patrol. Bit strange cos I havent enabled any mods recently and I was about 5 hours into that patrol when it went pear shaped. I play DiD so I dont save near ships or under water either.

The only logical explanation is that the kaleun was having some sort of episode brought on by the loss of 3 of his crew. The emptiness of the U-Boat was a manifestation of the emptiness he felt in his soul....:hmm:

Either that or the good people at Dell have sold me a lemon

BdU medical officer advises that emptiness can be cured with a shot of Jameson and/or a few pints of Guinness ... Suggest you put in at any Irish port ... Any port in a storm.
