Nomograph mods

Hi Everyone.

Before you say it I have searched, But I can't find a nomograph mod Wazoo's is mentioned but the page no exists...has it gone for good?

I've got GWX 1.3 so I'll need one for that. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Check near the bottom of the tutorial. There are underlined links to the mods.

Depends which ones you want. The draggable and Horizontal links are still working but the link for the vertical Nomograph is broken.

The vertical nomograph took me a while to find recently, as it can't be downloaded from Paul's site above. In the end, I realised that it was included with 'Real U-Boat 1.45' which I downloaded ages ago (but don't use), so I picked it out of that :) You can probably find it for download and do the same - if you need a hand let me know.

The draggable nomograph is certainly useful though, but I found it a bit of a hassle to move it about all the time and have just changed to the vertical one.

You should be able to get it from terrapin's site.

Please have a look at my drive through

Thank you very much everyone! I'm away at work at the moment but will download as soon as I'm back.:D

I had tried yours before, Venatore, but I found it hard to see all the marks I'd made on the map (plotted course, ruled lines, compass circles and so on) because the ocean was a different, darker set of colours, due to the brightness of the .tga you'd used (much darker than the original file if I remember correctly).

I'm sure there's a way to change the colour of the lines, but stock SH3 with your map mod didn't really work for me I'm afraid. The one I pulled from RUb 1.45 has a slightly cleaned-up standard map with the vertical nomograph, so for now I'm using that instead.

Nevertheless, good job on your Drive Through thread - very useful, thanks! :D

I just found the same thing, couldn't see any of the lines I plotted on the map. Going back to the original for now.

just for clarification:
the vertical nomograph is on the right side of my screen? its an overlay for the map?
and no matter how i pull the map around or zoom it in and out, it always stays there, same place, same size, so i can use it whenever im in mapview?

and the horizontal dragable thing is like one of the tools that gwx hides on top of the screen, in the right corner? so i can pull it to the map like a ruler tool or something?

if im correct im gunne look for that vertical nomograph ! only read about it a few days ago, and it sounds great!

Turm 04-01-07 04:18 PM

Yes, you are correct on both counts with the vertical and draggable nomographs.

The draggable one has the slight disadvantage that you can't plot lines exactly on top of it - as it's a floating image you end up dragging it if you click on it, so you have to drag the line from somewhere above the nomograph to somewhere below it. Not too bad really. There's also a fixed horizontal version, but I feel the vertical one is better as it takes up less space and gives a bigger area for plotting.

I couldn't find Wazoo's original vertical nomograph anywhere (except included in Venatore's map mod, but had problems with the line visibility). Then by chance I browsed through the files that RUb 1.45 modifies, and found it in there on an otherwise unmodified map screen. Perfect! :smug:

From http://u-boot.realsimulation.com/ you can find the file RUb1.45.7z in the section UBRS DLC > SH3 Mods. It's nearly 50MB but it contains the file you're after. This file is SH3\data\Menu\Gui\StrTactMap.tga.

Gedscho 04-01-07 05:35 PM

i couldnt believe i downloaded 50 mb for this tiny .tga, and when it was finished, the dl was broken.

so i started to think and think how i could get the file from paulwasserman.net, because i was confident it was there. the other links work too, so his space is just fine. and then i tried to imagine how I would screwup if i would upload some files to MY webspace.

the link
http://www.paulwasserman.net/SHIII/WazooNomoModVert.rar is really broken, yes.
but imagine human error and type in

I have been trying to learn manual targeting and I was looking at Wazoo's Manual Plotting and Targeting Tutorial, but it says it requires a couple of mods for which the links don't work for. Does anyone know where I can get:
Etchasketch’s BRILLIANT AoB finder wheel [Required for "Wheel" Targeting]:
Pato's AWESOME Bearing & Range Mod [Required for "Dead Stop" Plotting]:
Devnull's EXCELLENT 1 degree scope marking Mod [Optional but VERY helpful for precision]:

Sorry if this is kind of unrelated.

The vertical nomograph is also in Ducimus' Flavored to Taste Mod, which can be found here:
http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/show...flavored+taste

just use the \data\Menu\gui\StrTactMap.tga file.
