Torpedo fix for Type IXB?

Using GWX 1.02. The loadout for the Type IXB is 21 torps total, instead of the 22 it's supposed to have, from what I've read.
Is there a fix for this?

Maybe that's a compromise, given that the BdU prohibited the use of external loadouts for all u-boats from 1943 onwards? :hmm:

Cheers,
AndyW

Well if you don't have external storage in a Typ IX you have not much. IIRC the IXs had 10 or 12 torpedoes in external storage while the Typ VII only had 2.

Ah a little respect at last.

Of course I am going to continue with calling you
sharkbait until you complete the surface mission the
first time.

You need to edit the cfg like I did.

[SUBMARINE_AMMO6];IXB
Type=2
Version=0
ForeTubes=4
AftTubes=2
ForeResIntern=4
ForeResExtern=6 (I changed this from 5 to 6)
ForeResExtra=2
AftResIntern=2
AftResExtern=2

Zero Niner 03-09-07 08:20 PM

Sorry, I can't seem to locate a cfg file with the submarine ammo header. What file do I amend? Thanks.

Edit: Is it the Basic.cfg file found in ...\SH3\data\cfg ?

Steppenwolf 03-09-07 08:24 PM

\SilentHunterIII\data\Cfg\Basic.cfg file

Zero Niner 03-09-07 11:53 PM

OK, I edited the file as Steed suggested. Starting a new patrol, I now have 6 fore external reserves, out of which ony 5 are loaded. :damn:

Am I missing something else?

GWX 1.02

Ducimus 03-10-07 12:08 AM

You declared the 6 external stores, but did you define them?

Zero Niner 03-10-07 01:22 AM

So it looks like I missed a step. Pls tell me how I can fix this, thanks.
I've already edited the basic.cfg file that Steed mentioned.

Ducimus 03-10-07 02:27 AM

This part is basically a declaration of what the sub will have:

Quote:

[SUBMARINE_AMMO6];IXB
Type=2
Version=0
ForeTubes=4
AftTubes=2
ForeResIntern=4
ForeResExtern=6
ForeResExtra=2
AftResIntern=2
AftResExtern=2
ShellSlots=14
NbYears=7
Renown=7
SNK_MASK=NSS_Uboattype9_SNK_mask
This part your defining what you declared it to be, by year.

Quote:

Year0=1939
ForeTube00=0 ;T1
ForeTube01=0
ForeTube02=0
ForeTube03=0
ForeResIntern00=0
ForeResIntern01=0
ForeResIntern02=0
ForeResIntern03=0
ForeResExtern00=0
ForeResExtern01=0
ForeResExtern02=0
ForeResExtern03=0
ForeResExtern04=0
ForeResExtern05=0 <----- you need to add this, for every year
ForeResExtra00=0
ForeResExtra01=0
AftTubes00=0
AftTubes01=0
AftResIntern00=0
AftResIntern01=0
AftResExtern00=0
AftResExtern01=0
Z01_00=9 ; IX/1
M01_00=0
A01_00=8
S01_00=4
SuperCharger_00=1260
Snorkel_00=-1
Batteries_00=1268
AftBatteries_00=1268
Hydrophone_00=1271
Sonar_00=-1
Radar_00=-1
RadarWarningReceiver_00=-1
Decoy_Launcher_00=-1
SonarCoatings_00=-1
RadarCoatings_00=-1
Renown0=9000

Now, it lists things, sequentially in a way a computer understands it.

In otherwords, it starts counting with 0, so number 5 is really number 6 in human terms.

Also, every year the ID for that store increments.

This is 1939
ForeResExtern05=0

this is 1940
ForeResExtern15=0

1941
ForeResExtern25=0

1942
ForeResExtern35=0

And so on, and so forth

Zero Niner 03-10-07 05:03 AM

Ok, I think I got it.
I suppose for best results, to do this only when in port?

Ducimus 03-10-07 05:21 AM

Yup.

BTW,

T1 G7A's are ID number 0

T1 G7A FAT's are ID number 1

T II G7E's are ID number 2

T III G7E's are ID number 3

TIII G7E' FATs are ID number 4

Falke's are ID number 5.

Sad thing is, i just typed taht by memory without looking at the file. :roll:
