Getting rid of numbers..

Is there any way to get rid of the numbers on the screen in course plotting mode? (The one that tells you time & distance to next waypoint?)

Why would you like to do this? I think it is important to know your distances and ETA. Well that's just me though:p

Unfortunatelly I cannot help you in this as I have no idea how to do it:oops:

i just think it would be cool to have to do this manually, with the ruler.. then calculate ETA and range.

Fair enough. I don't see the reason but again you know as people get older, like me, they can't keep up with the youth;) :D :D :rotfl: :rotfl:

Get a big dials mod and never use the course plotter just put in the compass heading.

If you really want to get hardcore then remove the u-boat marker from the map.
You can use the periscope and a bit of math to get your position from the hight and hedding of the sun and the time of day. However, I have never checked if the sun is accurate so you may have to spend a few weeks makeing charts.

Thanx for replying, mateys!
BTW: I dont think the SHIII sun (or stars) are accurate. There was a thread a while ago, considering the use of celestial navigation & sextants. The conclusion was that the current layout of stars and the sun in SHIII cant be used for navigational purposes... Too bad, really..Would make it a whole more realistic.. I just hope SHIV has something like that implemented. Considering that they have already included longitude & latitude grids, it might be possible..
Is the numbers on the SHIII map hard-coded?

I remember that thread, he was supposed to make us a celestial chart. Wasn't that at UBI ? I want to say Bootsmann did that, but I maybe wrong.
