Please help with Ohio class mod

Hey all, trying to get the Ohio class mod to work with the “modern” control room interior from the interceptor mod. I have added both mods, changed the interior path in the cfg to match but nothing shows up, any chance someone can give me a quick refresher on how to add this interior to the Ohio? Had it working about 2 years ago, and just got back into it but can’t remember how i did it the first time. Any help is appreciated!! Thanks guys, good to be back!

Are you using the cfg file in the Data / Submarine / SubName folder? Sprelling ez vury vury impore tent... So for something like the Balao, which does not have an interior of its own, it's interior line would be:
[Unit]
ClassName=SSBalao
3DModelFileName=data/Submarine/NSS_Balao/NSS_Balao
HumanPlayable=YES
Interior=data/Interior/NSS_Gato/NSS_Gato
...
since it uses the Gato's interior. Are you set-up that way?

Also, in Windows, caps, such as "Data" or "data" does not matter if the actual folder name is "Data". Windows can find it. With Linux or similar, character case makes a huge difference, so a "Data" folder cannot be found with a path with "data"...
:salute:

yes, im using that cfg in the main data etc folder. Using the interior from the NSS_Interceptor. Still getting nothing. Is there a link to that actual interior mod instead of scalping it from another sub?

That I do not know. I am not familiar with the mods at all. If jhapprich or ETR3(SS) were involved with either, one of them will come along every now and then and could comment on that.

Are there any other references to an interior in the cfg file? Inside the "Data / Interior / NSS_Interceptor" folder, do you have "NSS_Interceptor_CR.cam", .dat, .dsd, and .sim files, and a corresponding "NSS_Interceptor_CT.cam", .dat, .dsd, and .sim files?...

I cannot find any other "interior" references in my SH4, but maybe ETR3(SS) could help there also... :salute:

Edit: I did find a link for a thread for an Interceptor by Silverwolf
https://www.subsim.com/radioroom/sho...28#post1356328

and a Typhoon mod from Yamato_NF

and a thread with a very interesting question:

You'll need the Interior, Library, and Textures folders and all the files within from the Interceptor mod. You can copy these into the Ohio mod if you wish or create another mod folder for separate activation in JSGME. You'll also have to make the previous mentioned edit by PB in the NSS_OhioSSBN.cfg

Got it working! Thanks for the help guys!! One more question, is the conning tower room able to be changed at all or is that part of the same interior file?

ETR3(SS) 09-25-20 10:38 AM

The Conning Tower room is part of the Interceptor mod. It looks like Silverwolf just removed the periscope models from the file. You could delete the CT files altogether but the game may crash if you click on the hatch at the back of the Control Room.

Would there be a way to make it lead to another “interior” file? There’s another interior mod out there with crew quarters etc, I’d like to add that in place of the conning tower room to almost have a “second level” on my Ohio class sub with all the crew quarters etc. any way to pull this off?

ETR3(SS) 09-28-20 03:54 PM

It's possible, but would involve a significant amount of work to get it right.
