Officer Icon Mod v1.2 -Final
The default officer icon images annoyed me because no matter which crew member you place in there it always displays the same generic portrait. It would have been cool if the portraits actually updated to match the crew member like the 3D models do.
I changed the officer icons to images that portray the station of each officer rather than their portraits. I think its more practical this way and it blends it nice with the existing layout. The icons are modified screenshots from the uboat's interior. I've updated the mod one last time....I didn't like not having the empty black boxes when a station was unoccupied because I like to right click on icons even when an officer is not there to quickly jump to that position. So I added an optional file that adds the black boxes again but this time the texture is transparent so it doesn't stand out as much.

Very nice mod Captain! :|\ I'm trying the set without labels, the graphics are easy to interpret.
Btw your original post also shows a gun-metal color Observation periscope lens-ring, instead of the default 'black' color. I tried to find a periscope mod just like that, but no luck. Do you happen to remember the name of the mod, or where it was downloaded? |

Oh, and I'm curious about the observation scope as well. It also looks like it's a bit lighter than the standard scope (judging from the lens 'rings'), or am I seeing things? I know that the observation scope is supposed to be better than the attack scope in low light, but as far as I've understood this is not the case in defualt SH3? A fix for this would be great. Then I might even start using the observation scope from time to time. |

The obs periscope you see in the screenshot is a part of a custom mod I made for myself from Redwine's 'Precision Periscope Mod'. :up: Its pretty cool because this allows a separate texture to be used for the obs periscope so now you feel like you are actually using 2 different scopes. Also, a rig for red mask is added to the uzo at night as well as a more precise bearing indicator. Its listed in the mod list sticky in this forum and I believe its also @ Terrapins site. The only thing is I think it is updated only to sh3 1.3 status. However, with a good amount of editing the menu_1024_768.ini file you can transfer it over to a newer version. In my version I removed the pin-up girl image; They looked very nice but my uboat already has 2 scopes....a third one would be a crowd. :-j I tried to give it that “lens” effect by making the inner ring transparent as well as various other changes.
