A lot of people have said that a lot of times in the past. At this point in time the real question is, how would you know? We are already trapped inside our own minds, with no way of truly understanding what others are thinking. With that in mind I don't see how it really matters.

The eye cannot watch itself. Zen understands this better than many academics nowadays. My question would be: what is it that thinks: "eye"? Does it start and does it end somewhere, this thing sombody (who?) names "eye"? Can "eye" and "watching" be separated? Is there this separation betwee3n subject and object, thing and process?

Maybe we should not say "we have eyes". Maybe we should say "we are the watching itself".

not sure one can say the programmer placed politicians into the equation. I think what was programmed into the system is vast number of possibilities available for us to choose from (cause and effect) that can produce politicians.

The law of causation is the philosophy of science. I think you will find most major religions will agree with such philosophy too.

Each of us is responsible for the choices we make.

Perception acts as a lens through which we view reality. Our perceptions influence how we focus on, process, remember, interpret, understand, synthesize, decide about, and act on reality. In doing so, our tendency is to assume that how we perceive reality is an accurate representation of what reality truly is.

I would prefer not to call it a representation of reality, but a working model that serves our needs to be provided with a functioning habitat that allows us the illusion we can influence it, master it, and be masters of our future and fate. Because if that illusion collapses, deep existential despair and mental and emotional breakdown can be the consequence. We are not made to accept living in chaos that any second can wipe us out. But that is how the universe seems to be. The illusion of an order, a meaning, of things making sense and we being able to influence them, is vital for us, even if it is just an illusion. Accepting that nature doe snot care one bit for us, for Earth, for life, leaves us no peace of mind. We need to beleive in a higher principle. Thus, our model-forming of reality, cleverly thought out so that all parts in it work together and form a logical, functional, interacting and convincing fallacy.

I accept it.

Anything else is hubris, you might as well believe in a big invisible man in the sky that shaped humanity in his image and cares about who wins the super bowl xD

Intelligent have also a lot to do with our perception of this reality.
