How to finish a mission (supply drop in Philippines)???
I got a mission - supply drop in Philippines. I got there ...and nothing! I did not get the message to launch the dinghy.
I even went as close as possible to drop point: http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c2...-2007_22-2.jpg http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c2...-2007_22-1.jpg http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c2...-5-2007_22.jpg http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c2...-2007_22-3.jpg Oh. And that was my first mission in my new career  |
too far inland the drop objective.
|
O.K. Finished it.
I had to stop and wait there for 1hr (i used time compression) to finish it  |
Similar Issue - How to finish
I've come across the same issue, in my case, "Patrol East China Sea." Unfortunately, all torpedoes and gun ammo expended. I just wandered around the area but nothing ever happened. Can't say I stuck it out for an hour (real time). Should I just sit still and let the clock run?
Any other suggestions? RayM |

That's why I tried everything... As last, desperate attempt, I time compressed and it worked after 1 hr (only a few seconds time compressed). I guess those bastards in dinghy had trouble getting out of the sub (drunk?) :rotfl: |
I have to opposite problem... the guys on the rubber boat wont come back into the sub. Is there a button or order to make them come back? They allready went to the shore and back (and made a terrible sound grating against my hull) but they just cant seem to get back on board. They row around in circles bumping against my sub, but no joy. Should I just leave them and carry on?

Yup.

They wont get back in
Your job is simply to drop them off and get outta there. No requirement to wait around as they will not get back in etc.
As far as I know the only "pickup" you'll get to do is downed US pilots but I've yet to have a mission like that with TM 1.7. |

Thanks for the reply guys.
It seems a bit weird to me that they would bother to row back to my sub if they don't intend to get onboard... at first I thought that they were coming back for more supplies (one raft can't possibly haul several tons of supplies in just one trip) but they wouldn't do anything except play bumper cars against my boat, like as if they were trying to climb onto my boat with raft and all. I was starting to think that I had to give them the pilot-rescue treatment or something. Anyway, I'll follow your advice and just leave them there. |
I know this is a old thread, however i just ran into the same problem trying to drop supplys into the Philippians just before the capture of Manilla. What i found worked for me was to approach the beach within one mile at periscope depth. bring your boat to a complete stop, do one last search through the scope the service for the drop.
i tried approaching on the surface and i was not prompted to send the raft ashore however when surfaced within range it did prompt me when the crew switched over to diesels. not sure if anyone is still looking at this thread (I did) so i thought i might post what helped me. Im using the latest patch of RFB 2.0 |
Indeed, I guess you're supposed to pretend they returned to the sub as in rl the subs waited around for the agent/soldiers to complete their mission and re-embark (Makin Raid):hmmm:

If I had no Torpedios left I would return to base. I think there would be nothing worse then having a convoy or task force roll in and not being able to do anything about it but watch. :wah:
