Non have heard from AOTD in a while.

Just wanted to say thanks to Maddy and all contributors to this great mod. I just downloaded the German version of v2.0 from a site that was in Spanish. Was lucky to find it as I tried searching for the link again but can't locate it.

I have it 90% converted to English by using the stock Data\Menu\menu.txt file, also the stock Data\UPCData\UPCLocalization\UPCLocalization.tsr file. Then I converted the ship class names to English in the Data\Roster\names.cfg

There are still about 6 buttons in the lower left menu of the sub tasks that appear in German, such as sicht konta..... Looking through the files, I can't seem to locate where that is referenced.

Maddy, I could send you the names.cfg I converted to English, if it might help save you some time. I really appreciate all the work you put into this mod. I've tried a few SH4 mods, and Fall of the Rising Sun is my favorite.


ps. I have no idea why my message appears all double spaced. I didn't enter it that way.

Can I install this on the steam version of the game?????

Is there any word at all on the English version release.

P.S. Finally found a d/l for the mod, and after the 5 minute cinematic, it CRASHES. If I could get help that would be great.

I never had problems with crashes using this. Any other mods in your setup?

This is the only mod I have activated with the GME. All other have been removed. The game will play the opening, do the first loading then says "Silent Hunter IV has stopped working" and crashes.

Does SH4 work when you don't have FOTRS installed? If not, try reinstalling everything again.

Yes, it plays just fine without it, and also will play with other mods loaded, just not FOTRS. Don't know if it matters but I can't d/l the one from here, I had to Google it and d/l it from another site.

WHAT GAME VERSION ARE YOU USING?

FOTRS only works with v1.5 (uboat ad-on)

if you are using v1.4 game then that's your problem

Just noticed SH4 was showing a SH5 splash screen when I loaded, then got an error. Complete wipe, fresh install of SH4 and have the U-Boat addon for version 1.5 Where can I download the actual mod? When I try in this thread it goes to a broken page?


EDIT: After the fresh install I have the mod working. Are there any other mods, for sound or improved water, that work with this one?

P.S. Thank you as well for the help guys.

FOTRS mod is an as-is mod and has its own environmental mod and campaign mods built into it so you are not able to use other mods with it unless they specifically say they are made for FOTRS and use FOTRS files. I am not aware of any mods for FOTRS because of that.

there is also a FOTRS for 1.4 but si in german.
