He would like to remove the redmask for the closed book, so it should have the same black color as the open book.

what do you mean?

I think the problem is that the red night lighting makes the manual spine look brown, see what it looks like at day time...

I just rechecked the code and I viewed with the German de_menu.txt

It shows perfectly aligned with the numbers. I can't however check it for the High Res versions. Sorry.

Check again the codes, especially coordinates (Pos) and the alignments (TextFlags). If I overlap the english with the German picture of yours, it looks to me the Alignments of, ie Tonnage, is still Left justified (TextFlags=0x4) instead of Right justified (TextFlags=0x6)

I've finally got everything installed, IUB 1.03, IUB 1.03 patch and the Improved Recognition manual from the original link for the IUB 1.03 install  . However, after starting a patrol, I found that I too was missing clouds when it was raining. I found, and I wish I had found it before having to pay for the primium service of your original link site (Rapidshare) - coz it was only downloading about 12Kb (max) of your file in the free option mode :damn: , that there was an install posted in Uboat.Realsimulation site  . My question is this :hmm: : Since I am only using the Improved Uboat 1.03 mods,

1) Can I use this mod download;
2) Which parts;
3) Is the fix for the missing clouds included in this download;
4) Should I be in-port prior to installing.

Your help is greatly appreciated ;)

PS: Just read your thread on the fact that the 'Uboat.Realsimulation' download version of your 'Improved Recognition Manual' is corrupted  , it is stated as only 82.8 Mb on the site :damn: :damn: :damn: , as of a few minutes ago . Any idea on when it will be corrected?

1) can't make out what you mean, if you want to use JIRM with IuB?
2) ?? Download the IuB version ?
3) no, but you can download this temporary fix here
4) Yes for the fix, No for the JIRM.

I currently reuploading the 200Mb Complete Kit. I hope it will replace the corrupted file soon.

Folks oughta be using:
HashTab

Using simple stuff like md5 checksum lotsa
corruption could be avoided.

Not to mention Time Saved (tm)

Often times one is looking into files if somethins iffy
but it could be a corrupted download/upload.
Saves lotsa hassle.

Here's how it works:
One makes a file available somewhere and posts the md5 checksum also
so rest of the folks can compare. This is really nothing new
and im surprised folks are not using it allready here,
given the amount of downloading/uploading.

:D

(ps. excellent mod btw, muchos thanxos)

This mod looks really great but when I go to eneble it, JSGME says that enabling it may have 'adverse effects on this game'. I downloaded the second one for GW. What I want to know is that if say I enable it through JSGME and at a later date want to remove it, should I disable GW and then JIRM or JIRM and then GW? When I go into JSGME I see this:

mods enabled:
GW
JIRM

I've looked at the files it alters and it doesn't look like a biggy but wanted to know if anyone has any problems, besides the ones listes in the above posts.

Thanks for the response. On the questions, I was just wondering if the file located on Uboat.Realsimulations was compatable with IUB (ie: was there an IUB version included) which in-turn brought on the second question. On the temporary fix for the lack of clouds, when I hit a download button to any of the listed servers on that web page, it would only download 0(zero)Kb and say the download is completed when there was nothing downloaded (numerous attempts were made :damn: ). I haven't tried the 'Fast' server because you have to be a paying member for that server in order to use it, I don't usually download from anywhere other than 'SubSims' or 'Uboat.Realsimulations', and like they say, "...why pay for something when you could get the same thing somewhere else for free" (Not being cheap, just 'prudent' ). Would there be another way to get the fix?

Thank you

IT looks to me as though the red mask is causing the problem, but it is only affecting the retracted spine of the book is this a layering issue? and can the layer of the spine be changed to be above the mask?

Tonnage_Ace 04-11-06 06:53 AM

JIRM causes these two discrepancies:

1. The default position of the stopwatch is over the sheets of paper, default GW had everything spaced out(totally small issue but we're all about details)
http://img116.imageshack.us/img116/1582/59ub.jpg

2. The weather icon on the watch officer's menu is invisible but still useable

JonZ 04-11-06 08:48 AM

This is not my mod causing this but the Jcwolf mod. JIRM don't touch any of these areas.

I'm having an issue with my recmanual. After installing this mod for several countries I have 2 flags on the rec manual cover. I'v tried deleting any covcountryname files in the folder tex and under the gui in both the GW folders and default data folders but they still persist.

Is it supposed to be this way or know how to only have 1 flag on the cover?

One of the flags is "military," and one is "civilian."

You aren't suppose for anything anyway on a free comunity mod.

There's a version for IuB on u-Boot.realsimulation.com now available.

As for the cloud problem, I would suggest to find out your original IuB package you downloaded (not the patch).

Then Go to this folder -> data/env/

Copy all the content, paste it on the same folder of your SH3 directory to overwrite them all.

Hope it helps.

Downloaded the complete kit from Realsimulation.com. Terrapin was right: when I unzipped the 80MB file it opened as 199MB, no problems there. I did a manual install. Instructions were easy (especially if you've alread been through the process with Sales' Simfeeling 6-Dials mod. I have a different cover and color for each year, and it seems to work perfectly.

Thanks, JonZ, for another great addition to the SHIII universe.

Thanks.

The issue with the corrupted file at u-boot was largely because of the self-extractor was not working for me and some other users (A short second DOS popup appear and that's all). But opening the self extractor with 7z program, People should be able to retrieve the files.

If I have time one day, I will just pack it to a 7z instead of compressing it two times with two different methods. This will lighten the difficulty of some non-experienced users.

I managed to get the GW version tweaked manually for my install (I had already modded the Menu_1024 file for a few things) and it seems to be working great - I downloaded first the small GW version and installed it, then found the manual install and skin set and downloaded that, but while I saw lots of folders with different colors, I didn't see anything about different dates and the readme referred to some other document (that I couldn't find) to explain how to put the things in SH3 Commander so the books would change with the years, so now I'm still using the 1939 version even though it's 1941.

What am I missing about how to get SH3 Commander to change books by years?

Also, since it is apparently possible to have a different-looking book each year, is it possible for the actual content of the book (not just the cover/date) to be different for each year? e.g., could the liberty and victory ships' pages be removed from the early years' books and only show up in the book for the year they actually entered service (and later books, of course)?? It's always kinda bugged me to see ships in my recog manual in 1939-40 that didn't exist until several years later.

Great work so far, and the German language fixes do seem to work - thanks for another great contribution
