Welcome aboard, JuliettRomeo! :salute:

Normally, I'd give you some well-intentioned advice, but it looks like you're off to a very good start.

Is seems sh4 after after adding some mods still have potential. I like it more then sh5. I'm using Monsun ops as a main mod.

Red Devil 08-27-14 05:34 AM

Been afk for some weeks now because of RL issues, will come back to SH4 in October (typical winter gamer :D).

Juliet Romeo, the book Das Boot is a great read. Movie is good too.

I'm back playing SH4 after taking a break for about a year or so. Can't wait to see what wonders modders the have come up with.

Arlo 08-27-14 08:34 PM

Twas out of it for bout near a year due to hectic RL and frustration with 4 messed up variants. Glad to be back to a vanilla TMO. :D

Is vanilla TMO not a contradiction as vanilla is stock and TMO is not?

My games been far far more stable since I did the 4gb switch on the exe, and got my mods in a good order. Back with my old rig, it would crash every time I added more than a handfull of basic mods.

Current active mod list;

Websters New Orders Bar Menu
RSRDC_SH15_V550
RSRDC_V5xx_Patch1
Crew Rank Fix - RSRDC
3000 Yard Bearing Tool (1920x)
Magnified Hud Dials for v1.5_Medium
Improved Stock Environment_v3
ISE New clouds+Waves #1
ISE Realistic Colors #2
blue_mouse_cursor
DBSM_Music_1_0_4
Enable Type XVIII Career Start
Snorkel Beta 1 with Type XXI conversion
LexBind 1.0 (see sig)
LexSensor 0.6 (A Vision Mod WIP)
Webster's Missing Voices
Hires_lightmaps
Hires_lightmaps_UBOAT
Dark Recognitionmanual
FJB Camera Mod for Stock
USS Blackfin Skin
KILL MARKERS - USS GATO HI-RES

:yeah:

And there are a few more I wouldnt mind adding, if i can get versions that dont overlap the mods I have. :subsim:

That's how I found this site

I have actually owned SH4 for a number of years, but my computers where never advanced enough to play it. They could play SH3 but not 4. I finally got a computer that could play 4, and I am sure you can only imagine my disappointment.

I downloaded all the patches, but I can't fix the black BB Colorado. The patches fixed most of my complaints, but I still can't get over how ridiculous the Sub looks when its in rough seas. The Sub is literally flying.

Don't the game designers know there is a small thing called Gravity? Anyway I was looking for a Mod to fix this problem, and I ended up here. The only problem is I have never messed with Mods, so I know nothing of how to install them.

Lexandro 09-01-14 10:10 PM

Well you certainly came to the right place DJ, welcome to subsim. I would suggest you check out the guides on adding mods with JSGME. Its actually very simple once you learn it.

DJ Kelley 09-01-14 10:16 PM

Yea I'm trying to figure it out. I pretty much just want the fix for rough weather, and I think I would be happy.

I just downloaded Jsmga or whatever it is. I am reading through it, but I still don't know how it works. So now I guess I have to download the Mod, and then try to figure out how to activate it on the game.

I'm just returning to both SH3 and SH4. This is a good thread to read about some of the available mods. If anyone knows of a good thread in the SH3 section that discusses the high points of what each supermod for SH3 aims to accomplish that would be a great help. I'm finding the focus on complete realism to be good for fixing things but I also like to dial the realism to my personal preference.

For SH4 I think I will go with TMO first then try RFB.

Red Devil 09-02-14 08:35 AM

one thing I have never had is a 'flying sub' - must be something in yuor make up!
