Thanks for good words!
I made the stern light. I didnt put the bulb in, because the frontline U-Boats had them removed. http://img371.imageshack.us/img371/2...wn14el3.th.jpg http://img49.imageshack.us/img49/166...1006tx0.th.jpg http://img253.imageshack.us/img253/6...2003qi0.th.jpg http://img114.imageshack.us/img114/1...3002fm4.th.jpg http://img511.imageshack.us/img511/4...3005wg8.th.jpg http://img511.imageshack.us/img511/3...4003ha3.th.jpg http://img183.imageshack.us/img183/8...5003kz5.th.jpg http://img183.imageshack.us/img183/4...6001vr2.th.jpg http://img369.imageshack.us/img369/5...0021qg4.th.jpg TBC... |

Taday i completed the SG, part that was on my mind for months. I was thinking how can i strengthen the joint of the support arms. And i have found the way. First i have produced the 4 supports from thin brass sheet. 0,5mm copper wire was soldered to underside of each support. Boats hull was drilled in the right places. Then i simply inserted the wires into the holes using CA glue. http://img176.imageshack.us/img176/6...1002ga7.th.jpghttp://img176.imageshack.us/img176/7...1003rq0.th.jpg :sunny: |
More details. Not much left to be done.
Hinges on the hatches. As the hinge i used the stretched sprue, blobed at both ends with hot knife: http://img508.imageshack.us/img508/3...8001nf4.th.jpg http://img98.imageshack.us/img98/123...8002ob4.th.jpg Bow details: http://img98.imageshack.us/img98/445...8020jb4.th.jpg http://img520.imageshack.us/img520/5...8006qc2.th.jpg Some hatches, and steel plates were added to the sides: http://img176.imageshack.us/img176/4...8016uf9.th.jpg http://img293.imageshack.us/img293/1...8014rr6.th.jpg http://img520.imageshack.us/img520/2...0171az0.th.jpg UT sesors: http://img156.imageshack.us/img156/8...8021wy8.th.jpg TBC.... |

This morning- before i have gone to work i made 6 brackets for the stern jump wires support. Revells part is just plain three leged lump of plastic, and i decided to pimp it up a little- doing it the way i have made the net cutter supports. http://img171.imageshack.us/img171/2333/u2031jk2.th.jpg http://img247.imageshack.us/img247/7...6003jk1.th.jpg http://img379.imageshack.us/img379/3...6004rg3.th.jpg TBC... |

I wish the U-995 in Laboe looked as real as this one   Seriously, I'm at a loss for words to praise your amazing work. If you ever decided to also build on it one of the several interior kits available....wow....that would be the holy grial of sub modelling  |
Don't know about you but I would've just started with a bigger model ;)
Amazing work mate, amazing. And I can understand the passion, I once spent months on Nigel Mansells Ferrari, I was very pleased with the result. But what you're doing just makes my attempt look like a couple of toilet roles and a box.:up::up: |
AhHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!
STOP IT!!!!!!! YOU'RE MAKING MINE LOOK LIKE KEEEERRRRAAAPPPPP!!!!!!! No, seriously, this is the most impressive kit I have ever seen, and I have seen some phenomenal works of art with models. That light is just insane!!! I love it. Look forward to the completed work. |
